2006 Sportster Build
Right before the chop.
With the springer, new tank, chopped rear fender mounts.
Back in 2020 probably slightly fueled by COVID craziness, I bought my first motorcycle… Cyn and I were camping out in the Black Hills that August and I got the itch, so right then and there I started looking for my first bike. Ended up finding a 2006 Sportster 1200 for the right price and went to go pick it up…on a trailer, because I couldn’t ride at the time.
Well, it didn’t last long before I decided that it needed some customizing, as most motorcycle owners seem compelled to do, and since then it’s been slowly undergoing small changes. In the Fall 0f 2024 I decided it was time to start going a bit more extreme with the mods and chopped the rear fender mounts, ripped out the wiring and installed a Japanese made springer front end.
As it sits right now I’m waiting for some warmer weather to install my Brembo brake kit onto the Gleamingworks Springer front end, also need to figure out a way to increase the turning radius with the springer. Probably going to have to chop off the fork lock…
Tear down.
